The Last Jar

It’s all about good Irish fare at the Last Jar. Surely not much beats black and white pudding, crisp pigs ears, stuffed potatos, Irish stew, and warmed gingerbread for dessert.

The Last Jar is an authentic Irish Pub in Melbourne’s CBD, serving comforting and traditional Irish food. With Irish beers on tap like Guinness, Kilkenny and a few of their friends as well as local ales and wines.
A toasty fire in winter, a bright farmhouse dining room, a secret beer garden upstairs and a curious ‘confessional’ style snug.

Café, Bar, restaurant, Breakfast, lunch and dinner, open 7 days a week, 7am till late (isn’t hard to find somewhere decent to have a coffee and something to eat!)

Personal recommendation:

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff, the food passing our table looked delicious and generous serves.

Our lattes came quickly (Dimitina brand coffee) and were creamy and delicious. Could have been a hotter.

We had to order dessert – apple strudel, homemade and just delicious. The addition of the coconut just made it more scrumptious! We were happy to pay $8.00

accompanied by either cream or ice cream or both.

We are going back for pizza so if the budget is tight you could share a pizza  and dessert for around $12.00 plus drinks. Good food and good value!

Also if you are brave enough and rugged  up you can sit outside.

  1. Joy Edwards says:

If you live in the Camberwell area (Victoria, Australia) I cannot recommend Chef Ken’s Kitchen in Riversdale Road, Middle Camberwell highly enough. A group of 10 of us dined there recently to celebrate a birthday have discovered a hidden gem which we will revisit time & time again. The courtesy, the smiling, gentle attention to detail could not be faulted – all this accompanied by absolutely delicious food from an international kitchen that knows what it is doing. The prices are amazing for the quality of service & food, the added bonus being it is BYO.

    • Many thanks Joy most enjoyable night and everyone enjoyed their food from young teens to nannas. So glad you could be with us!

    • Sadly Chef Ken’s Café has been sold and our 60th birthday function had to be cancelled. Not Good

  2. Thank you for your response. Cannyseniors wish you the best for the holiday season
